I have been taken by these bedspreads since I first laid eyes on them a few weeks ago. They are hand embroidered by otomi indians from the mountains of the Mexican state of Hidalgo and are inspired by ancient cave paintings from the region. They come in 6 beautiful color-ways and fit a full or queen size bed. They can be found at Laviva Home.

M.S. Corley Cover Re-Designs
I recently ran across M.S. Corley's art blog and fell in love with his re-designs of my favorite children's novel covers in the style of the Penguin Classics. They have been sent to all the proper people in the publishing industry and I can't wait to see if anything comes of it. I would be proud to have any of these on my shelf. Check out his blog for more info and work.

Hello Kitty Ad for MAC Cosmetics
MAC recently released a collection of Hello Kitty cosmetics. I've never been a huge Hello Kitty fan but as soon as I saw this ad for the collection I had to share. Creepy, cute and Alice in Wonderland inspired. It was directed by Floria Sigismondi, a visual artist who has also done videos for Sigur Ros, The Cure, The White Stripes and Christina Aguilera.
Check out the collection at MACcosmetics.com.

Etsy for Pups.
Meet Logan.
He's our newest family member. We picked him up last week and I've been on hiatus to settle him in. He is NEARLY house trained and is starting to play well with the roommate's cat. He'll start puppy classes as soon as his shots are taken care of.
Naturally, (once he's grown up and out of the chewing stage) he'll become a part of our handmade family. I've been browsing etsy's pet section quite a bit lately and have come across so many clever and well designed handmade pet products. In celebration of Logan, I figured I'd share a few of my favorites. Here's to chic pets everywhere!

Dog Bed Custom Cover from Bow Wow Beds - 38 x 50 Canvas - $38 + shipping
I love how industrial and minimal this cover is. In tough canvas too, it is durable and washable. Plus, who doesn't love customization? This one gets the Logan seal of approval.
Wool Felted Ball for Indoor Play for Small Dogs by For the Love of Art $1 + shipping
Almost wish Logan was smaller so he could have one of these. I love toys that are pretty enough to leave around the house.
Custom Classic Pet Silhouette by A Modern Home - $50
There are so many pet portrait painters out there, but there is something about the simplicity and timelessness of a classic silhouette that really speaks to me. I would love to get of of these to hang by my reading chair in the library.
Eco-Dog Collar in Cut Flowers by Green Belts - $35
If only Logan was a little girl... this collar is so adorable. It's made from re-claimed leathers and is hand cut in black, yellow and olive flowers. This particular collar is a medium.
